Born in 1943, Melanie Moulding studied at Waltham Forest Technical College and School of Art and the Royal College of Art where she won the Drawing Prize.
Early paintings were mostly of the figure and the urban landscape, but Melanie’s move to Canada and extensive travels there and in the States influenced her work which became progressively more inspired by the wilderness. On her return to England, Melanie settled in Somerset where she taught Art & Design, Sculpture and Photography at the City of Bath College.
Previously working in oils, Melanie has recently begun experimenting with using egg tempera on gesso boards. Her paintings continue to be inspired by the landscape, the streams and woodlands of Somerset where she works in the landscape.
