Harriet combines her background in illustration with her love for making with natural materials. Her work encourages others to assert more value on curiosity and play through the objects they use, as she strives to redefine traditional archetypes of furniture in a playful and honest way. Her craft workshops and public speaking provide opportunities to pass on practical skills and knowledge, as well as opening up new channels for discussion.
Her enthusiasm and wide skill set have allowed her to pursue a variety of projects, rewarding her with many exciting opportunities. The most significant have been attending the LINLEY Summer School in August 2017, establishing her THIS GIRL MAKES blog in October 2016, as well as its online community and events program and being shortlisted for the 2017 Wood Awards Student category.
She graduated from Rycotewood Furniture Centre in Summer 2018 with a first class BA honours in Furniture Design and Making. Her ambition is to continue working within the craft and design industries, operating as a freelance creative practitioner.
